Has anyone else run into an issue with the 3D emitter for the Nvidia Vision Pro locking up (the computer is not locking up)?
The light turns blue, which is often fine, but the 3D does not work. Rebooting the computer does not fix the issue. Unplugging the emitter for ~20 seconds and plugging it back in, and then rebooting the computer does work. Do the emitters have RAM on board, or is this likely an electrical/overheating issue? DragonDru, Can you provide detailed steps for a reliable reproduction of the issue you are seeing? Could you also explain what you meant by "3D does not work"?
Also, generate and attach nvidia-bug-report after reproducing this issue. |

Right sorry. Same systems that have this issue: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...19#post2497319
This (different) issue takes a week or so to crop up. So, it will take some time before I can generate a new nvidia-big-report. On a system was largely working (see my other post for caveats) the 3D stereo will stop after about a week. During that week the system was rebooted, but never powered off. 3D stereo was used intermittently. When the 3D stereo work, running "glxgears -stereo" results in a 3D display of gears. "nvidia-settings" shows the menu item for managing the 3D glasses. Also the emitter would turn deep green when 3D stereo was functioning. When 3D items are not displayed on the screen, the emitter is a deep blue color. By "3D does not work", I mean that while a 3D image is displayed on screen, the 3D stereo system does the following: - turn the emitter deep green, it stays deep blue - the 3D glasses do not shutter - the menu item in "nvidia-settings" for managing the glasses does not display Rebooting the host system did not resolve the issue. To resolve the issue, I unplugged the emitter for ~20 seconds, and reconnecting it. The emitter flashed purple (which seems normal). On rebooting the host system, the emitter returns to a deep blue color. Normal functioning as defined above is then returned. |

System locked up again with same symptoms. Coworker rebooted system and issue was not resolved. Users are on it now, so I can not try USB unplug/replug fix.
I did run the nvidia-bug-report.sh script, but I ran it over and ssh session. I hope that won't affect things. I should also note that unlike last time, the emitter is flashing blue and green. Otherwise it appears to be the same issue. |

With many tries we are unable to reproduce this issue. Do you have any another set of 3d hardware and emitter ? Just want to confirm that it should not H/W issue.

Do the emitters have RAM on board, or is this likely an electrical/overheating issue?
We have three emitters in use currently. They all get "weird" after a time. I have not have the light turn light blue and stay that way for a while. The current issue, which seems similar, is the light will alternate light blue and light green constantly. The glasses will work, but new glasses can not be added. Solution is the same, unplug the emitter for many seconds and reboot the computer. Issue occurs after a week or more of periodic usage (system is otherwise on constantly). |

Does this happens on all systems you have Or only on one system ? Please provide logs by running nvidia-bug-report.sh as root.

Here are three nvidia bug reports from the same system.
The first one is labeled March13_nvidia-bug-report.log.gz. It is from March 13, 2012. The 3D emitter is cycling light green and light blue, but the 3D works. The second is labeled March19_no3d_nvidia-bug-report.log.gz. It is from March 19, 2012. The 3D emitter is still cycling light green and light blue, but the 3D does not work. The third is labeled March19_3d_nvidia-bug-report.log.gz. It is from March 19, 2012. This is after unplugging the USB cable from the 3D emitter for 20 seconds and then rebooting the computer. The emitter is dark blue when 3D is not displayed and dark green when 3D is displayed. 3D works at this point. |

Just tried with NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-295.49.run. I am running into different problems that prevent my testing fully. For some reason I can not pair glasses with the emitter. Downgrading to NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-285.05.09.run restores pairing functionality.
