TVout X-logout flicker screen

Hi, I'm having a small problem with my homecinema pc using my TV as the only monitor connected by the TV out.

The problem is that when I'm exiting X back to the console the screen starts to flicker and the only way to get the console back is to reboot.
Start up and using X is ok but always when exiting the X the screen goes bye,bye.

I'm using the 1.0-4496 driver with kernel 2.4.20-20.9
on a RedHat 9 system having a G2MX400 card (gainward?)

Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV"

Lets see... yes I did use the option.
(I attached my config file.)

I discovered yesterday that if I type "startx" while the screen is flickering (without be able to see the console) X actually starts again and sends me back to a visible X.

However it would be nice to be able to use the shell after logging off X , without a reboot...

Maybe need to "trigger" the TV-out in some way when exiting the XFree server?

I use

twinview clone
for my gf2 mx400


When I switch to console by pressing
Ctrl-Alt-1, the tv-out is blank. The console is ok. The tv-out is restored correctly when I pressed ctrl-alt-7 to switch back to X.
