I have successfully installed the latest update on a new machine which runs RH9.0, but have a slight problem
It has a Pentium 4.0, with hyperthreading, and as such, I have the option at GRUB of selecting the kernel with smp or without smp. When I choose the .smp kernel, the NVIDIA update works fine. When I choose the other kernel, it does not find nvidiactl. I believe I installed the update when the .smp kernel was running, and not when the other was. Do I need to do the update procedure twice, once for each OS mode? Thanks

Yes, different kernel interface files (and, consequently, different NVIDIA kernel modules) need to be installed for the UP and SMP variants of the kernel.
