Default Option "EnableBrightnessControl=1" no longer works in x.org 1.9.5

After updating my Slackware64 installation from 13.1 (kernel, x.org 1.7.7) to 13.37 RC 4.6692 (kernel, x.org 1.9.5) I'm no longer able to adjust the brightness. Using Option "RegistryDwords" "EnableBrightnessControl=1" under Section Device in /etc/X11/xorg.conf no longer works. nvidia-bug-report.log.gz attached. NVIDIA Driver Version: 270.41.06

Anyone else having similar issues?

I've updated to the latest NVIDIA driver but the problem persists.

Default Re: Option "EnableBrightnessControl=1" no longer works in x.org 1.9.5

I have the same problem with Dell Inspiron 13Z and Ubuntu 12.04. I used to have that option on my xorg.conf on Ubuntu 11.04 and after formatting and installing the new version I can't load graphics with that option on the xorg.conf.
Without it I can't handle my laptop brightness. Any suggestion?
