Alright! With all this evidence im sure he will change his mind, but if he doesn´t, well, i can still laugh at him when he is running hl2 at 40fps in dx9 mode lol. Thanx for the help.

More like mid-twenties for a 5900 in HL2 dx9 mode...below the playability threshold.

Tell him to give me 500.00 and I will get him a card that is 2x faster in Halflife 2 full precision mode. hehe I will buy a 9800pro for 300.00 and pocket the 200.00

Seriously he is a nitwit to waste his money on a 5900ultra for dx9 games. Tell him that I said he is an idiot/fanboy if he gets a 5900U. He may as well buy a Henry Ford Model-T to go with it.

Thanx for the links guys. Now i got another problem tho. We all know that ATI´s AA is a lot superior than Nvidia´s, and Nvidia´s AF is only a little bit better than ATI´s. I need some proof, cause he keeps saying that Nvidia got better AA and im sick of telling him that he is wrong. A link showing AA and maibe AF comparison between both cards would help me a lot, halp plz.

The 5900 Turbo is able to hang on in Aquamark, and the 51.75 drivers give it just enough boost to get it ahead of the 9800 Pro. Unfortunately, the other benchmarks do not go well for the NV35. While the numbers for Halo don't look so terrible, the numbers only tell half the story. To put it bluntly, Halo simply looks awful when run with the 51.75 set. Even though maximum detail levels are set in the game, the actual quality simply isnt there. (Remind anyone of the Trillinear filtering "bug" in UT2003?). Whats worse is that the drivers forcing the quality to zero doesnt even make up that much performance, and the card still loses to ATi. As if that wasn't embarrasing enough, the 5900 turns in abysmal performance when using DX9 Pixel Shader 2.0 in Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. Keep in mind this is a "the way its meant to be played" game. Detonator 50 adds an incredible 2fps to Tomb Raider, and makes it look horrid in the process. I did try Pixel Shader 1.4 (DX8) as nVidia recommends, and while the 5900 produced more playable framerates and better image quality, the 9800 Pro was still ahead by more than 30 frames per second.

And Nvidia sinks even more in to abyss
