Hello,
way back (before 2 years) laptops with AU0-8428 pannels had problems with "6 little screens" (each with 600*480 resolution) due to broken EDID. See thread: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=132041 AaronP contacted manufacturer and got the right values which later got implemented in driver. See: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...4&postcount=13 Now, with 302.07 the problem is back, only this time the resolution of "each little screen" is 800*600. The screenshot and bug report is in attatchment. |

Can you please enable verbose mode debugging and re-generate your bug report log?

Here it is.
I noticed that there is no 6 screens during boot or in console. In previous case it happened. |

Thanks. I confirmed that the EDID it listed is the same as the one in the workaround code in the driver, so it's not clear why the workaround isn't getting applied correctly. I filed bug 980325.

I managed to identify the problem and it should be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, you should be able to use the fixed EDID attached to the old thread with the CustomEDID option to work around the problem.

I still have the same problem with 302.17. Using the fixed EDID works, but it breaks suspend (screen is blank on resume, can not even switch ttys). The latter could be a seperate bug though.
