Default Office2k vs XP

Hey everyone,

I'd like to know some opinions.

Which office suite is better? 2k or XP?

I can trade in my 2k for XP and i was wondering it it is a good idea.

What are some advantages/disadvantages of both?

How bloated is OfficeXP?

Which would you recommend?

Thanks

I have 2K and XP. XP seems far less bloated and faster to boot.

Can you be more specific?

Any specific features that would make you chose xp over 2000?

I'm still using 97, and probably will be until I finally decide to switch to OpenOffice....

$200 for a standard upgrade just ain't worth it for a WORD PROCESSOR.

At school, we were taught on Office2000, but I had OfficeXP at home, so when I came home to test out what I had learned at school, I was dumbfounded on a few things. Simple things in Access were actually made more complex in XP by M$ adding stupid wizards to make it "easier". In 2000 all I did was a few clicks to make a database and form letter, now XP puts you thru a long wiz that actually makes it harder (at least for me).

I'd stick with 2000, and I'm probably gonna ditch XP as well and go back to 2000. That's what most ppl use anyway, so it's not like to HAVE to rush out to be compatible with everyone...

What about other apps?

Specifically, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Frontpage?

I have run both 2k and XP, and from my experiences 2k was much quicker to use. I also encountered some bugs with OfficeXP, but that was before any patches were out or anything so I'm sure they're fixed now. I'd go with 2k, it's a good bet.

Word, not much to say about it...it's Word...hasn't changed much other than some wizards as well, Excel, pretty much the same situation as word...
MS is trying to make Access more user friendly, that and Frontpage got the most attention, Outlook, don't use it, but my wife does, and she loves it...didn't see a diff in 2000 vs XP, but like I said, I don't use it at all...

office 2k and xp are almost exactly the same. If you already own 2k, donot waste your money on xp. If you have a choice between both, flip a coin. LOL
