Ivy Bridge worth upgrading from I7-980X EE?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, not that anything is actually wrong with my system, I'm quite happy with the performance but I'm looking at trying to recoup some of the money for a upgrade while I can. I'm looking at selling the cpu and motherboard for a 3770k and not sure which z77 board yet. But I'm curious as to what your guys thoughts are on this? Worth the effort to do it? or should I just stick with what i have for the time being.

not worth the money , you're system is powerfull enough .

you would see only minimal gains if any. The only interest is if you can get a good price on your current system, as your CPU used to sell for $999, but I'm not sure what it would sell for now.
Even an i5 3570K would be better, overclock better and be *MUCH* cheaper.

So, if you can sell your system for more than your upgrade cost and you have the time and energy to do that, I'd say go for it.

I still have not seen any reason to upgrade and I'm running a slower setup. The old i7@4ghz+ still does quite well but if you think the $$ difference will be small enough go for it. Doubt you'd notice the upgrade but you'll have the latest and greatest which I think is what you're craving
