I am running suse 8.2(geforce 3) and when I installed 8.2 it asked if i would like to online update to instal nvidia drivers so I did.
the weird thing is, 3d acceleration is enabled and 3Diag says says the drivers are installed and everything says the drivers were installed correctly even the logo shows upon boot up. BUT every single program that requires opengl does not recognize that i have opengl installed or configured...the game/etc still runs but its software...What is going on?? |

SuSE probably does not come with the binary nVidia driver. You're probably using the default X driver for nVidia and the default MesaGL or UtahGL software implementations of OpenGL libraries.
Make sure you download and install the driver from nVidia's website: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L...-4496-pkg2.run Edit: Whoops, that was a rather half-assed reply from me. I should also add that you need to modify your XF86Config or XF86Config-4 file. The necessary changes are described in the README file located here
