Help
Ok I have 1) Installed brand new installation of RH9 2) Rebooted and selected the skip configuration for X Server. 3) This gave me a command line to install the NVIDIA graphics RPM from my CD But after installation when I then go to /etc/X11/ to modify the config file IT DOESN'T EXIST. What can I do ? I've tried redhat-config-xfree86, but my monitor display disappears. If I then ctrl+alt backspace out of that I still have no config file. Can anyone help ? Ta ![]()

Click the link in my signature to grab my XF86Config file and change your monitor resolution and refresh rates as well as the mouse protocol accordingly to what you have.
It's a fairly common problem for automagic configurators like Redhat's X config to lock up when probing screen resolutions.

Thanks, but I've sorted it. I found a file called "Cards" I think, can't remember where it was. It has all the definitions for the video cards. I edited the default vesa config to run the nvidia driver and then ran redhat-config-xfree86. It let me then set it correctly and I could see what I was doing !!
Cheers ![]()
