I was wondering if anyone has been able to get TwinView, wit the clone option working. I can get x to load properly for my TV, but if I try to use the configuration below, I just get a picture on my TV and nothing on my monitor.
I also tried using the option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV,CRT", but that didn't work al all. No picture on CRT or TV. Any Ideas would be great. Section "Device" Identifier "NV AGP" VendorName "nvidia" Driver "nvidia" Option "NvAgp" "1" Option "NoLogo" "1" Option "TwinView" "1" Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-50" Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "60" Option "MetaModes" "1024x768" Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV" Option "TVStandard" "NTSC-M" Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone" EndSection Last edited by jerr; 10-09-03 at 09:10 AM. |

I was also wondering if anyone has any ideas or a workaround so that you can leave the tv-out cable connected to your computer without locking X windows on log out.

try to remove the ConnectedMonitor option and let the driver detect the situation. i could not get it to work with explicit ConnectedMonitor, but without it clone works fine.
as for the tvout lockups - tough luck. i'm happy that 4496 at least works with my card (gf4 ti4200 agp8x), although i know it is pure luck and not a fix in the driver. |

I wonder if you are suppose to have CRT and TV in the order of "primary monitor, secondary monitor " in "ConnectedMonitor".
As you have Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-50" Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "60" Youy probably should have "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT,TV"

Don't know whether you've already found the problem, but may I suggest checking your "MetaModes" line.
This option should be set to two different values, seperated by a comma. Example: Option "MetaModes" "1280x1024,800x600" If there's only one value as it is in your example, the resolution of your second monitor is set to NULL which means you won't see anything. If you want different pairs of resolutions try: Option "MetaModes" "1280x1024,800x600; 1280x1024,640x480" This gives you the choice of two different resolutions on your TV while keeping the resolution on your first display (most probably a CRT) at 1280 x 1024 pixels. More Information in the README - file. Hope this helps, regards, Ansgar |
