I dunno, I just never saw what the big deal about Halo was in the first place. From all the screenshots I have seen of this game I just was never impressed, it looks way too cartoonish to me with bland textures and I just see nothing innovative about it at all. Now I hear it runs crappy too, there is nothing complicated in the rendering to make it run like that. I never considered buying it for a minute. If Halo's your thing, go for it I guess, but it doesn't ring my bell. Of course that's just my opinion. People in this thread have said, "it's not boring like Unreal 2". Don't get that either, Unreal 2 was anything but boring to me. I guess if some people aren't fragging every second of a game, it's boring. That's not what I play games for. The rendering in Halo can't even begin to compare with Unreal 2, not even close. I hear the sound in Halo is supposed to be good, but again, Unreal 2 has probably the best sound (to produce the atmosphere) of any game I have played so far. There are so many multiplayer's around (frag, frag, and frag some more) that they seem to have forgotten or just do not know how to appreciate a good single player game. These comments are from a person who plays single player games only, I just have no use for multiplayer (I know I'm in the minority). Now multiplayer is boring to me. To each his own.

Let's just say that games are more than their graphics. HALO is probably one of the better games as far as gameplay goes. Unlike Serious Sam, et. al. you have to think more than just shoot.

Too bad you won't give HALO a try. The SP game is one of the best ever of any FPS.

SS was still fun even though what you say about it is probably true.

I read the firingsquad review of halo today and they seemed to like it, though they took it to task for the lack of co-op.

I'd have to play it on someone elses computer for awhile to see. And the lack of FSAA support and runs crappy even without it? I've been trying to run away from jaggies for years and spent a lot of money to do it. No way I'm going back to it now. I can hardly believe games are still coming out now without FSAA support. I have Call of Duty and Dues Ex 2 on pre-order and they should both be shipping in 2-3 weeks. Both of those are going to crap all over Halo (and they will both play good and have FSAA). You guys want to play a good game, try Chaser.

Better story?

I'd be surprised... really REALLY surprised.

I said earlier, the ingame story in Halo is not that elaborate. To tell you the truth I felt it was more of an atmospheric game , which is sometimes just as good as the story (for a game). you can get into it with all that happens around you and that AI chick thalking inside your head, the radio messeages and the stuff the team mates say. If you are not a hardware freak gamer, (most of the people here are ofcourse ) you can play this game with the -useff option and enjoy the game.

BTW Chrome is obviously inspired by Halo. many characteristics of Halo are in Chrome.

Yeah the hover cycle thingy handles EXACTLY like a ghost.

I like the forest scenery better in Chrome though. The way the rays of light and stuff. However, as far as hot game-chicks go, I think that Unreal 2's takes the cake....

I played the Chrome demo. The outdoor scenes look good but it runs like a dog. Not too impressed with that.
