Sat - I know you weren't upset about it, but I was ('cause I went a little off the handle when there was no real reason), so I apologized. Nuf said.

Actually Gearbox didn't start development of Halo immediately after the X-Box version was released. It didn't start until some time later. I don't know exact dates, but I am sure that they haven't been developing this since the original's release.

They have had to to add a console backbone, which I consider to be a remarkable feat.

But anywho - yeah, there are problems, but I fully expect them to be resolved. Maybe not tomorrow, but Gearbox will get it done. In the meantime, I'm gonna sit here and wish I was at home playing Campaign.

Hmmm People you don't realy need AA , in Halo its hardly noticable when you play fast action shootout, i know its problem with jaggies in other games but not realy in Halo

And it looks good at 800x600 no need for higher

Dunno man, I do..then again i get plastered on Multiplayer as I always stop to look at the *beautiful* bump mapping and AA!

$50!??!? I never pay more than $35 or $40 for a new PC game the first week it comes out! Actually, I lied, I paid $45-49 for WC3. Damn Blizzard and their BS $60 MSRP.

Halo is $40 this week at BestBuy. Do yourself a favor and never buy PC games at "full price." They are almost always on sale the first week they come out. Then about 1-2 months after release there are even better sales.

Sound advice. I'm planning on buying this game sometime. I really enjoyed it on the xbox and the new multiplayer sounds great. Just have to wait till the price comes down.

One of these days I'm going to remember to get my games from best buy instead of gamestop. I preordered this thing for full price + ship. Doh!

ugh, new problem.

i played to the point in the halo level where i'm past protecting the humans and i'm driving around in a warthog to the different groups of humans and defending them until they can be picked up. i got there last night. now, today, i try to continue, and i just start the level all over. even if i manually load a previous game, it restarts the level. whats goin on? anyone got any ideas?

btw; i love the game itself, apart from mouselag. for some reason, the console won't come up for me. how do you make it come up?
running smoothly at 1024x768 @ max textures, no shadows/specular, low particles. looks better than the xbox in my opinion (apart from the specular which is enabled on xbox). gameplay is much more comfy with a mouse and keyboard.

thanks in advance if anyone can solve this problem.

Even so, Worst Buy is the absolute last place I would ever buy anything. I would rather pay the slightly extra money and support the independent game shops. Or, I'd take the Best Buy printed ad to Circuit City or another retailer and get them to price match. And at Circuit, you'd get 110% of the difference back. It's only another $1, but that'll at least cover part of the sales tax.

I have no idea what everone is complaining about, I havent even bothered to check the FPS all I know is I have been playing single player for about an hour, and multi for about 20 minutes and the game looks FINE. Now I'm kind of sorry I ordered a faster CPU yesterday (well not that sorry) I mean honestly the game seems pretty smooth at 800x600 85hz no AA/AF but everything else is enabled and set to high in the game. I dunno, maybe I'm lucky or something

i dont think so. those are pretty modest settings. the settings i play at (with vsync off) get me a good 40-60 fps constantly. multiplayer is even faster. as far as i can see, the only thing that beats my frate into the ground with a big stick is specular effects. cuts my frate into thirds. shadows have a similar effect, but not to that extent.
