Childish? No. Differant? Definatly. All of the characters have a personality. Yes, the grunt's are cowards. But I guarantee you won't have that to say about The Flood.

It's a good game but NOT THAT GOOD as some people thought it was from the xbox

It has some nice features but just do not take the OSKAR

It is a pleasant TIME OUT until HL2 and Doom 3 or even DEUS EX 2 comes

Man, the more I play this, the more sorry I am I bought it.
That's one of my favorite parts of the game!! That and when you're finally ready to jump a banshee in Keys. The tables are turned and you're on top and the grunts now have those serious fuel rod guns. Any way I love those two parts. I must have replayed the one you're talking about 20 times before I got it all figured out. Not hard once you know where the enemy is coming from. (up top and the doors) The two Hunters make it way more fun because you have to swap to a sniper rifle to kill them quickly.

I just got done tweaking HALO on my system and I'm happy with the results.

1) added -use11 to the command line. Was using PS 1.4, now 1.1. Added a few FPS.

2) Set the following video options

rez = 1024x768 <-- this is the biggest single jump on FPS rate, naturally.
refresh = 85hz (I was playing 1280x768@85hz should bump this up..)
framerate = No vsync
specular = Yes
shadows = No (looked cool but didn't add to gameplay, IMHO)
decals = Yes
Particles = Low I had the biggest drop in FPS rate with the particle effects so this really helped pull up my low-end rate. Went from 15 minimum to 24 min.
Texture Quality = Medium. Bumped up my averate FPS rate indoors a few FPS. This really helped in the covey ship.

I'll get some averages for each level using FRAPS and post the results for comparison.

.R.

Welp, dedicated server 1.02 came out and I think this patch is necessary for the client ti work properly with it. As far as exactly what improvements there are I'm not sure but it's usually safe to assume some sort of security/anti-cheat stuff is probably in there.
