Where did you get the idea that DooM 3 would not have a lot of great features ? Who ever said you'd only have to shoot a couple of bullets at a HellKnight to kill him ?

Take a good look at the nearest 'spider' shadowS..

Nutty's earlier post summed it all up very nicly From a technical point of view D3 is superior to HL2.

[Edit] link fixed.
wow yes it looks like 3 shadows and they're darker where they overlap.

but look at the front 2 legs on the spider. is it just me or do they look
1. incredibly flat
2. like someone's gone around the edge with a big fat black marker
?

I like the heads being upside down. it reminds me of the scene in [forgot name of movie] where the girl runs down the stairs bent over backwards.

Glad to hear that. about hitboxes, you sure there are none in Doom3 ?
I thought it did have a very accurate hit detection (I'll look for that).

another thing, since all enemies are spawns of hell they can kinda get away with all unhuman behaviours. If anything is wrong here is that zombies CAN die.

I think youre just expecting too much dude. at this rate there will never be a game good enough for you as long as you are able to tell it's not real.

Yet the texture looks like dirt, and it is reflecting the Red light on the wall. yep, it looks like a red light is on the ground, but it acutally is not.

last time i checked dirt dosent do that.

no I'm sure it will have hitboxes (someone mentioned accuracy to the pixel), but I want even better ones dammit

if it can detect whether I hit him in the finger or the palm, then I want the finger to fly off or the palm to have a hole in it accordingly

doesn't look like dirt to me. and if that's a light then it's probably a bug.

the most disappointing thing about that shot is all the straight lines where the walls meet. looks crap. it's even got a little stone skirting board ffs.

OK, it's not that you have high expectations. You are just SICK
kidding I would like that too actually. but why settle there!! I want to cut their stomachs with a knife, pull their guts out, and then throw it on another zombie. then break every bone in his body and watch it wobble with extreme physics calculations

Yeah ! And I want to actually smell their flesh burn when I'll shoot them at point blank range and I wanna see the blood on my hands when I'll tear their hearts out of their chests and...er... sorry.

Doom3 doesn't use hitboxes. It does collision on the actual render mesh, you can actually shoot through between his fingers.

They noticed it made multiplayer suddenly leap in difficulty. Trying to do deathmatch with per poly collision was very hard apparently. I think they ramp up the weapons strength for deathmatch.

P.S. Kurt Russels ( or someone) version of The Thing, had an upside down head on legs.. it was well freaky..
