Default Debian Wheezy, X, driver 304.51 and compositing

Hi everyone,
last week Debian testing received an update of X and as usual after installing and rebooting it compositing and glx things in general didn't work because the X package replaces nvidia's libglx.so file with its own (I know, I should use dpkg-divert).
Usually, everything I needed to do was to reinstall the nvidia driver so that libglx.so got overwritten again with the correct version, and everything worked fine. Except this time it didn't. I've reinstalled the driver with the nvidia-installer and checked that the library version is the nvidia one, but compositing and so on don't work anyway.
Can someone help me to solve/debug this thing?

thanks.
