Unhappy Any success with nvnet and Mandrake 9.2?

I just installed Mandrake 9.2. Most things went smoothly, the nforce2 audio is working and the default XFree86 installation supports dri on my Radeon 8500.

Can't get a network connection. It seems to recognize the ethernet card on the nforce2, but doesn't seem to be able to load an nvnet module (is it missing?). Also tried compiling nvnet from source, but all it does is complain (nvnet.c:40:41: missing binary operator before token "(" ). Anybody get it to work? If so, how?
