Release Date: July 28, 2003

I have installed my new nvidia drivers a while ago and now i cannot compile my openGL stuff anymore i get errors pointing to
Quote:
gcc -Wall -ansi drawglscene.o handle_keypress.o initgl.o loadobjects.o main.o quit.o sdl_init.o setcamera.o hotrod.o -o test1 -lGL -lGLU -lglut `sdl-config --cflags --libs`
/usr/lib/libglut.so: undefined reference to `XGetExtensionVersion'
/usr/lib/libglut.so: undefined reference to `XFreeDeviceList'
/usr/lib/libglut.so: undefined reference to `XQueryDeviceState'
/usr/lib/libglut.so: undefined reference to `XListInputDevices'
/usr/lib/libglut.so: undefined reference to `XFreeDeviceState'
/usr/lib/libglut.so: undefined reference to `XOpenDevice'
/usr/lib/libglut.so: undefined reference to `XmuLookupStandardColormap'
/usr/lib/libglut.so: undefined reference to `XSelectExtensionEvent'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
gmake[2]: *** [all] Error 1
i was thinking this might have something to do with the new nvidia drivers, but im not exactly sure, it would be the only major thing i did ever thing this stuff compiled correctly.

Also another problem i have is that i am unable to get my second videocard working anymore, i used to have dual monitor support with x and now it wont work anymore, i was also wondering if the nvidia drivers might have something to do with this ?

I think you probably need to add -lX11 -lXmu to your link line.

I don't have any experience with setting up multiple monitors on the same machine, but the readme is the the best place to start:

ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Li...496/README.txt

Your link order is wrong; you need to add the appropriate X libraries to the link line. Something like this might work:

LDFLAGS = -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 -lXext -lXxf86dga -lXxf86vm

there shouldnt be any X libraries there it should be part of SDL sdl-config should take care of the libraries.

its gota be something with the new drivers and how SDL was configured, because SDL was standard with X then i installed the new drivers, it says libglut.so has no reference to these functions.

id appreciate any help thank you very much
