Question Linux and the MPEG2 Decoder from Geforce

Hello,

is there a way, to get the MPEG2 Decoder from some GeForce cards working on Linux?
Maybe as plugin for mplayer?
Or can Nvidia give some Code-Examples, or an API-Interface, or something similar, that helps me to code this?

Support for the mpeg2 decoder is provided using XvMC. Recent copies of both Xine and Mplayer should have support for this (perhaps not optimal yet but it works a bit already).

Note that not all Geforce cards contain a mpeg2 decoder. Geforce4MX, Geforce4Ti GeforceFX cards contain an mpeg2 decoder but the one on the Geforce4Ti lacks some functionality.

Thank you, you´ve done a great job.
I tried it yesterday, and Mplayer supports it since version 1.0 pre1. I compiled it with:
Code:
./configure --enable-xvmc
make && make install
and then played a dvd with:
Code:
mplayer -vc ffmpeg12mc -vo xvmc dvd://1
with only 7% cpu usage
