Default Triple Head 2 GO Fedora 18

Greetings! I have the triple head 2 go with three identical 24" monitors hooked up. I have been running this setup for a couple years now without a hiccup. I upgraded to Fedora 18 today and loaded up the nvidia driver and updated my xorg.conf. I used to have 3 x 1920x1200 X screens within KDE. I now see 1 1920x1200 and 1 3840x1200. I have not changed my configuration, any thoughts?

I have the same issue. Instead of 3x 1920x1080 on a triplehead2go I have a single 5760x1080. Bloody annoying to use.

I havn't tried this yet but theres a chance the top answer might work (I've used it before when I had 6 displays): -

Ok I've now tried this and it works fine. So replacing the libXinerama library with the fake one is still an effective solution (and will work with any graphics card than just nvidia).

I use this for my ~/.fakexinerama (so I have my primary screen as my middle one)

bundabrg - Thank you so much! Everything is now working properly. I hope nvidia addresses this for the long run.


To recap:

# Upgraded to Fedora 18. nvidia driver 304.51 introduced RandR 1.2+. It seems that the "TwinViewXineramaInfoOverride" xorg.conf config option (which now has been renamed to nvidiaXineramaInfoOverride) is not working properly. I currently have (3) 1920x1200 monitors and a Matrox TripleHead2GO with a total of 5760x1200. I was seeing a (1920x1200)+(3840x1200) regardless of my settings. Below `fixes` the behavior to (1920x1200)+(1920x1200)+(1920x1200).

So I opened up a case with nvidia. Here is the response I got:

"I discussed this with our developers. Assuming the xinerama.c is the one from the X server and knowing that your changes to xinerama.c fixed the problem, our developers suggest that you take this issue up with the X maintainers. If that discussion yields anything that points to a bug in the NVIDIA driver, then please report it to me so we can investigate and fix the problem."
