Default Suggestions for tweaking Twinview Geforce4 MX440?

Hi all,

I'm using an Geforce4 Mx 440 in a Twinview analog monitor - tv setup with Slackware 9.1 with Mplayer and Xine and the latest Nvidia drivers.

I find performance less than with WinXP. Movies when played full screen tend to have a slight horizontal jagged effect, like the screen isn't refreshing fast enough. Just enough to be irritating.

I've tried updating all relevant software to the latest version, tweaking the HD and DVD and setting various options in the Xconfig. Does anybody have any other tips?

Much appreciated!

I edited my XF86config like this (after installing the nvidia drivers).

Section "Module"
Load "record"
Load "extmod"
Load "dbe"
#Load "dri"
Load "int10"
Load "xtrap"
Load "glx"
Load "type1"
Load "freetype"
Load "speedo"
EndSection

Identifier "Card0"
Driver "nvidia"
VendorName "nVidia Corporation"
BoardName "NV17 [GeForce4 MX 440-SE]"
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
# Options
Option "NoLogo"
Option "TwinView"
Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-50"
Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "60"
Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone"
Option "MetaModes" "1024x768,1024x768"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "crt,tv"
Option "NvAGP" "2"
Option "TVStandard" "PAL-B"
Option "RenderAccel"
EndSection

Restarted X and it worked.

checked if the driverinstaller exported some values:
__GL_DEFAULT_LOG_ANISO=1
__GL_FSAA_MODE=4

Watching movies is fine, as long as its not fullscreen, then the small but annoying striping occurs.
