ERROR: Unable to connect to download.nvidia.com (temporary DNS error (try again

-> No matching precompiled kernel interface was found on the NVIDIA ftp site;
this means that the installer will need to compile a kernel interface for
your kernel.
ERROR: Unable to find the kernel header files for the currently running kernel.
Please make sure you have installed the kernel header files for your
kernel; on Red Hat Linux systems, for example, be sure you have the
'kernel-source' rpm installed. If you know the correct kernel header
files are installed, you may specify the kernel include path with the
'--kernel-include-path' commandline option.
ERROR: Installation has failed. Please see the file
'/var/log/nvidia-installer.log' for details. You may find suggestions
on fixing installation problems in the README available on the Linux
driver download page at www.nvidia.com.

two things you can do, one is try again and hope it works. Or secondly say no, and let the driver installer compile it's own interface.

As mtrr states above, you need the kernel source installed. 9.2 leaves out A LOT with a default install, and they didnt bother to put the source for the kernel on the cd either. You can get it at Mandrakelinux.com by going to one of their current tree mirrors /Mandrake/RPMS/. just download the source RPM and install it. It is 41Meg, so hope you have BB! Also make sure you have Mesa installed. Good luck.
