Unreal 2's utter crap, UT2003 is alright...play it online. Undying is another great game, but now it looks old, so it doesn't go on my rig, same with any Half-Life engine game and Quake III, and Shogo, and even Splinter Cell! No Max Payne either....trying to keep this system with new games that I haven't played a million times to boredom. And I do have the demo, just can't install it...my CD drive won't read the disc. oh well...probably not missing much anyways.

EDIT: copied the installation file off the CD and now about to try the game out...I'll tell you what I think when I get back.
No, your missing loads.

Not that any of us care, we are just happy for another brilliant FPS

I was impressed by the demo, but $50 is hard to put down. I dont know, lately, ive bought games that dont last long. They were good, but short.

Is this a trend?

Yeah this game is short but great. I personally think it was worth every penny after reaching the Russian missions. If you dont play onlin mulitplayer you may regret it because its over so quick, not the fault of the game but because you wont be able to stop.

Yeah the trend seems to be shorter more action packed games. I remember when an FPS took me ~2 months to finish (Unreal). Baldurs Gate 2 took me ~5 months to finish.

Most games I have gotten this year I have completed in a day or two, and it does leave me feeling a little cheated.

I think the trend is set to continue. It would just cost too much money to make a game that last 2 months nowadays.

Games are gonna become more like movies. Short but very sweet. Although the issue of price becomes an issue of course.

MP lasts as long as theres good servers around tho.

Yeah True.

I wish games would come with Co-op multiplayer though.. especially games like Call of Duty.

I guess when it comes down to it, I want a longer SP experience in games.

Take Divine Divinity for instance:

It's an RPG, that didn't get much attention, yet, it was fairly entertaining(minus the show stopping, and hopefully fixed bugs)

I like some length to my games, and even if it is short, and sweet, it isn't worth $50.

Would you pay $50 to watch a movie?

The industry is changing thats for sure. 30 UK games companies have gone down this year alone. Some say its consolidating into more bigger studios like films do.. I dont really know whats happening, except its changing.

The biggest issue is games cost a fortune to make, and are extremely risky buisness for publishers.

Back on topic, thought the game was excellent. But I agree it was a bit short. It said 4 sets of 12 missions.. I thought by the time I got to the russian bit I was only onto campaign 2..

MP is okay.. Feels like a slightly less polished version of Wolfy (the original, haven't tried EP), though the killcam rocks. Its a bit snipey too..

ok, heres my summary:

MOH Sucks
CoD RAWX YOUR JAWX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call of duty is soooooooooooo much better in ever single way. this is THE best single player war game ever made imo. i also LOOOOVE the fact that your not just the stooooopid americans (i dont really mean that, but your always the US in every war game). you get to be the poms and the RUSKIES! the russian campaign was the best EVER!!! especially after you take the river bank, and theres literally hundereds of guys running up the hill...almost none of them have guns tho . but if your complaining about the graphics, your a tool. gameplay over graphics anyday. i'd still play half life if i hadn't finished it multiple times...but there is one thing i noticed about the models that is quite stupid...crouch next to one of your american allies, and look up at their helmets...there HUGE.

I just finished the first two missions of the Russian campaign.

Best FPS of the year by miles.
