Default RE: Geforce 6000 & 7000 series cards

What are the capabilities of these two series under Linux? I'm aware there is no VDPAU, which I assume means no sort of hardware acceleration....though I'm not sure how 3D acceleration of 'Nouveau' driver relates to this. Are there other limitations? Any positives?

Upgrade already.

These cards support OpenGL 2.0 - that's all. VDPAU is not supported, because the first architecture to support them was the 8xxx series.
