Default Weird graphical errors (and missing extension)

Hi all,
I've been having some trouble with my nvidia card (geforce 3 ti500) under linux. For a start, some games (q3a, HL under Wine) texture weirdly - skystreets.kaosfusion.com/screwy.png (I didn't use img because it's 640x480). Also, ut2003 dies with an error about GL_EXT_bgra not being supported, but I'm pretty sure it should be. I've tried both my GF3 and a GF FX 5200, my normal 2.6.0-test9 kernel and a 2.4.22 kernel (both with NvAGP and AGPGART), and the 4363 drivers (instead of the current 4496). None of these have fixed it - q3a still looks weird (the screenshot is HL, but Q3A is the same) and ut2003 still refuses to work. Does anybody know about this, and how to fix it? I want my q3a!!!!

Do you have Mesa libraries installed? The could be getting in the way if they are linked first, which I thought would cause all those engines to fail... but perhaps not.

It works fine to just remove the Mesa libGL installed, but keep the libGLU.

I found the solution... the the xfree opengl drivers were being used instead of the nvidia ones (some gentoo stuff). Thanks anyway
