Default Fedora KDE 16 Geforce GTX260 and slow gtk applications

I am using a Fedora KDE 16, and I noticed that my desktop computer with a Phenom II, 16gb ram and a Geforce GTX260, many times is slower than my laptop Thinkpad T60 that is quiet older... This happens on GTK applications, instead QT applications are faster. I can see GTK applications window transitions like if the computer is tired-stressed... This is not normal and is quiet annoying

kernel 3.2.9-2.fc16.x86_64
nVidia drivers 290.10
gtk theme: qtcurve

Here is GTK Perf session of 1000 test rounds

I don't think the issue lays with nvidia, I suspect it's a kde problem.

You did not set 1000 test rounds

I tried changing GTk theme into Adwaita, it does not seem much better

I am also experiencing huge X process CPU usage, expecially in those events that I am writing about: (minimize-maximize GTK windows, Firefox tab change, ecc.)

this is what I mean for X huge cpu usage
don't pay attention to other two high cpu processes, since they are running at low cpu priority and they are boinc related

I did
Code:
debuginfo-install xorg-x11-server-Xorg
then
Code:
 perf record -a
and after some time I pressed ctrl+c and then
Code:
perf report
Here attatched there is the result

Trying to do
Code:
nvidia-settings -a GlyphCache=0;
I got the following perf report:
open x11_GlyphCache_0.png attachment

After that I resumed old settings by doing:
Code:
nvidia-settings -a GlyphCache=1
Trying to do
Code:
nvidia-nvidia-settings -a PixmapCache=0
I got the following perf report:
open x11__PixmapCache_0.png attachment
After that I resumed old settings by doing:
Code:
nvidia-settings -a PixmapCache=1

I noticed that after those tryings the system seemed a bit more reactive.

Yesterday I noticed that a university mate with Fedora 16 KDE and nVidia Geforce G105M has my identical problem.

The M60 is the slowest, slower than X300. Especially scrolling is very slow.

I update this topic by saying that I received confirms that it is a GTK only related bug that nVidia has by many years. Indeed everything QT relates works flawlessly, only GTK applications are affected by. If you look for "nvidia slow gtk" on the internet, you will find a lot of people complaining. It's a shame for nVidia

Stop lying really.

NVIDIA has just one problem with GTK - some gradients (not exactly recommended for general use) are not accelerated.

Here on my PC.

Theme: Nodoka Font: Tahoma 9

Code:
GtkPerf 0.40 - Starting testing: Thu Jul 11 11:44:35 2013 GMT

GtkEntry - time: 0.03
GtkComboBox - time: 1.12
GtkComboBoxEntry - time: 1.05
GtkSpinButton - time: 0.07
GtkProgressBar - time: 0.03
GtkToggleButton - time: 0.06
GtkCheckButton - time: 0.03
GtkRadioButton - time: 0.06
GtkTextView - Add text - time: 0.12
GtkTextView - Scroll - time: 0.08
GtkDrawingArea - Lines - time: 0.26
GtkDrawingArea - Circles - time: 0.26
GtkDrawingArea - Text - time: 0.16
GtkDrawingArea - Pixbufs - time: 0.04
 ---
Total time: 3.37
