Default ut2003 riva tnt

Hey guys, I am really impressed with the graphics drivers for linux. They are awsome. Quake 3 runs perfect for me, but when ever I run unreal tournament 2003, it gives me this error:

Xlib: extention "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
OpenGL renderer relies on DXTC/S3TC support.

History:

Exiting due to error.

Okay, so what do you guys think is happening? I read the faq that comes with it, and it says that all NON nvidia cards spew out that error, but I have an nvidia card! it's old I know it's only a TNT but it should work right? Did I install my drivers wrong?

I would really apreciate the help.

Thanx so much.

DAN

Nope sorry, TNT cards will not work with UT 2003. Cant see them being even near playable even if they supported all the necessary functions. A Geforce 4 is slow enough! Good luck

Unless I'm mistaken you need at GeForce 2 chipset to support it (not sure how many of the gf 1s do... but don't even bother trying to play that game with one of them).

Let me just illustrate:
P4 2.0Ghz RDRAM based system with the expanded 512k cache
GeForce4 ti 4400 on the 2.6 kernel
average framerate:
24 at 1600x1200 full detail
43 at 800x600 very low detail

Now I'm sure some people get better, but that is a very cpu bound game. I've played it on GeF2 Ultra machines, and I would rather play tetris than deal with that. Personally I think the engine is flawed.
