After ran the 3DMark 2003 with patch 340, I am really surprised that all benchmarks scores are unchanged but the only thing changed is the final 3DMark score, it very strange that patch 340 gave 4328 3DMarks and previous patch 330 gave 5072 3DMarks so with the new patch had lost 744 3DMarks.

How can that be???

Maybe FutureMark changed some way the final 3DMarks scored, I think it is so unfair.

Then how come ATi's score didn't change?

I think that's what this thread is about.

It's pretty weird that they still call 52.16 "approved" drivers. I'd have thought cheating is bad

Well waving their fist in the air screaming cheat didn't work too well for FM in the past. 52.16 doesn't cheat anymore thanks to the patch (so it seems) and who ever is interested still gets to see the results pre & post patch.

No, they count 'em as approved after the 340 patch...which the 52.16 set does NOT have any cheats for.

Well my max used to be 4623. Now its at 3893. Difference of 730. So a reported near 900point drop is close to accurate under this patch. At least from my first initial test.
