FutureMark have now made the 340 patch for 3DMark03 available for download. The patch weighs in at 5.4Mb, and can be downloaded from FutureMark here.
Are nVidia still cheating I hear you ask? Of course they are, did you ever expect any different? Courtesy of Beyond3D (The 333 patch was the release candidate for the final 340 patch): Code:
Patch Driver 3DMarks GT1 GT2 GT3 GT4 GeForce FX 5950 Ultra 330 52.16 6412 205.7 46.6 37 37.3 GeForce FX 5950 Ultra 333 52.16 5538 205 39.6 33.1 26.3 Radeon 9800 XT 330 3.8 6435 209.7 45.4 38.6 36.3 Radeon 9800 XT 333 3.8 6436 210.5 45.4 38.6 36.3

OF course they are still cheating, why would they stop? They don't want to look second best. A lot of nv users still seem to be happy about their high scores, even if it is due to cheats.

It's a fricking arms race isn't it? Nvidia keeps finding ways to cheat and benchmark coders have to keep pace to defeat them. This explains Valve's rant about many in the industry having to do extra work because of Nvidia... well this and having to code extra paths to get decent speed on Fx cards.

So what? I think Hanners missed one thing, ATI is cheated too!
![]() Take a look at 9800 XT 3.8 driver GT1 benchmark with patch 330, it scored 209.7 but with patch 333 the score increased to 210.5. So that mean ATI cheated with GT1. Where is patch 340 benchmarks scores?

This patch should be a welcome to last week remark. I have no doubts, That a new driver, Will reimplement the cheats, and the merry go round will continue.
I dont believe futuremark has a chance of fighting off every nvidia driver release. Quote:

I'd love to hear any other explanations...at least ones that make one tiny little iota of sense. ![]()
