Has anyone solved the issue where upon exiting X-Windows, the console is dim and flickering. I have a Dell 2650 Nvidia G-Force 2 go 16Mb?
This is very annoying not to mention that I am not sure if I am damaging my video somehow. The X-Windows is great! Log out to console and it is terrible. Thanks for any resolution, PiratePete |

I tried all the options given in the nvidia driver and nothing worked. I have a dvi-ported flat panel that also has an svga connector (which most dvi-ported also have). I worked-around the problem by connecting BOTH dvi and svga cables to the nvidia card. When I switch to the console, I also switch to the svga cable using the buttons on the front of the monitor. When I use X, I go back to the dvi cable using the same button.
This should not be necessary, and I am told that a new nvidia driver will correct this problem.
