My motherboard isn't detecting 128MB of graphics memory. What is the issue here?
Anyone else run into this? I've updated the bios, the motherboard is rather 'old' per say, the chipset is an intel chipset supported natively by XP. Any ideas? Anyone know how to get this working? |

It could be the wrong BIOS loaded onto the card...You might wanna explore that route before you go returning the card...
Good luck, let us know how it works out... ![]() |

Put the card into another system, detects 128MB just fine.

Run DXDiag from the Start Menu. Check to see if AGP support is enabled, if it isn't then you try installing the latest MB drivers for your machine (4in1s for VIA etc).

FSb 133, AGP 4x, drivers are not needed for i8xx under XP, PSU is 230. Ran fine in a P4 system with a 250.

is there any possibility of an incompatibility with your motherboard? always check the manufacturers site, and look for bios updates as well. Also, try setting the BIOS to default settings
i'll post more if i think of anything else

Pulled out cards, still a no-go. Unfortunately.....
Looks like it's time to hound Intel for a bios update. The board is the Intel VC820, it's semi-old, but I wouldnt've thought that 128MB video ram would be too much. I'm pretty sure all it'd take is a simple bios update. |

FIXED IT:
I think there's a flaw in the i820's AGP4x implementation. I set the video to 2x and it works fine. Also works *BETTER* heh. |
