Default SuSe 9.0 (Net Install) & 4496 driver

I cannot get this thing to work at all.

I recently upgraded my kernel to 2.4.22 so that it would have built in support for my motherboard (nForce2, only way I could get the net driver to work) and now I cannot get the video card driver to work at all. I have tried installing from the sources, reinstalling SuSe, using the RPMs, building my own kernel module, using the patches from www.minion.de and absolutely none of this hads worked. I don't understand what the problem is. I have tried all the solutions I have found on the net, and everything (even the NvAgp=1 fix) and still I just get garbge at the bottom during the test and a black screen when I try to boot in.

Anyone have any ideas why this could be happening? or a step by step on what I should try next? I think I messed up during the source install, so if anyone could walk me through that, I would appreciate it. Also, I can't get my SB Audigy card working using the drivers from www.sourceforge.net/projects/emu10k1 (?) if anyone knows how I can fix that.

THANKS A TON IN ADVANCE

As useful as that post just was...

I don't want to use ALSA because it blows on Audigy cards...

and how do I fix a framebuffer error? that could have been helpful information...
