Default Install the kernel header files ?

Hi there,
I'm real new at this , but have been reading lots in the forum.
I can not seem to figure out how to install the kernel-source-2.4.20-20.9.i386.rpm.
It says I need this to install the nvidia drivers.
I tried this for a whole day 18 hours HeHe!!!
With no luck on the sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run.

Boy this seems like alot of work to just install a video driver.

P.S. Maybe I should stick to just building computers.

All you need to do is run the rpm package or use the command line.

rpm --install kernel-source-2.4.20-20.9.i386.rpm

I'm guessing your runing gnome if you cannot run the rpm?

One installed you should see it installed in /usr/src

Talking Figured it out :)

I had to do a reinstall of the OS and use a custom install to make sure that the kernel development tools where installed.
I installed the Nvidia driver with ease after that.

Its running very nice with a Nvidia geforce 4 ti 4200.

You didnot need to install linux again, it allows you to add dev software whenever you want.

Never mind, at least you got it sorted.
