Question why not Open Source ?

I don't like to have to install extra drivers for my nvidia card after each kernel upgrade for example. I want graphics card drivers to be included in xfree86, onboard sound and network drivers in the kernel etc. Please make those drivers open source, so they can be integrated in the different projects and distros.

Yeah, you and a whole pile of others want this (for some reason). This has been discussed here countless times and at great length.

They're not open source. Deal with it.

It's because of licensing issues, suse are the only one that provide a so called patch(the full drivers) on there update facility to make installing nvidia+3D so simple.
