Oh man these drivers are damn good, smooth as silk with no problems so far, UT2003 is much better.

X starts up alot faster and it seems to have solved my slight mouse stutter(was not bad at all) just it's smoother and 2D is faster.

Love the control panel, nice, simple and easly accessable by making a shortcut.

If you ask me these drivers are on par with the Windows ones from what I can tell.

Funny, UT2003 is a no-go for me. Freezes every 10 seconds and stays there in increasingly long periods of time. After ten or so such freezings, it finally lock ups. RtCW exits with segfault, Quake III freezes (although not as bad). NWN seems to work well and so does classic Unreal Tournament.

And you know what, I have the same problems with the windows 5x.xx detonators. Could this be hardware related? But both in linux and windows, as soon as I reinstall 44.xx drivers my problems are solved.

A7N8X Deluxe 1.05
1GB 2700 DDR RAM
Pixelview GeForce 5900 (non-U) 256 MB RAM
kernel 2.4.23 with medley patch
RedHat 9
Two Seagate SATA drives
One Western Digital ATA 100

Default Gentoo

Anyone wanting to try these on Gentoo before this junk gets into Portage should take a look here:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=112209

I tried it out and it worked great for me

Thought it was too good to be true. Machine locked up after about 26 hours while surfing using Mozilla. Can move the mouse pointer but that is about it.

GF4 MX440 on a XP2000 KT400 setup with 512mb Ram with MDk9.2

Anyone like to recommend a good ATI graphics card that has working drivers?

Has there been any offical word involving these drivers or when we can expect a release? I've been running these for about 24 hours, really nice.

Hm, not bad. I did an antalus flyby benchmark in UT2003 using pretty low settings (Ti4600, like to keep it above 40FPS in multiplayer). Minimum framerate increased by about 6, max decreased by about 2, overall decreased by < 1. So since the maximum was high enough and the minimum is higher, I'm happy.

Nope. And I own a few of them (9000pro 9500, and a 9700).

I would like to suggest that your lockup problem lies elsewhere. AGP, heat, etc... Point me to your thread that details your troubles and I will attempt to help.

Thank you for your time,
FranK Russo
