Parar X server, Stoping X Server

Bueno, demas esta decir que me costo encontrar el comando para detener (stoping X Server) pues en la instalacion del Driver de Nv no me permitia seguir con la instalacion hasta que no detuviera el X Server.
El Comando para Red Hat 9 Shrike es el siguiente:
/etc/init.d/xfs stop
Luego de esto instalo sin problemas el driver y al terminar escribi:
/etc/init.d/xfs restart
y OK.
luego un REBOOT y bueno, no solucione nada aun porque no tengo las capacidades de la tarjeta grafica, no paso nada pero a lo menos aprendi a parar y restart el famoso X Server que no me dejana seguir.
Cualquier otro problema lo ire colocando y espero si alguien encuentra la solucion la comparta.

i don't think he realized this is an english spoken forum.... yet what he's trying to say is that he learned how to stop and restart the X graphic shell in linux, which is required to install the nVidia drivers.... why is in this forum instead of linux forums and in spanish instead of english, i don't know
