Did you check that status while X was running? It will display disabled until X loads.

Hello!
Sorry to bother you, but I'm newbee (3 days on Linux, 10y lost on Gates) I have the same problem (cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status - disabled) but i don't know how to compile MTRR nor what it is. One more question, in Blender (Opengl) cursor leaves smudges and artifacts, i 've tried to disable hwcursor and swcursor in xfree config but it doesn' help. Also troubles with Konqueror on 4620b (can't close window, artifacts, etc.) Knoppix 3.3 (Kernel 2.4.22 Xfree86 4.3.0) Nvidia 4620beta (the same on 4096) Gf Ti4200 ECS Sis 735 Athlon 1ghz tb Thank you

to enable MTRR you need to recompile your kernel.
(which is like dos or winxp to windoze users) Now this should not be hard BUT it can be different for each distros, so I suggested looking in the documentation re: rebuilding/recompiling your kernel. When rebuilding the kernel you will be asked waht you want in it, you are currently missing the MTRR just select it. Rebuild the kernel is a very scary the first time you do it but afterwards its a breeze |

Regarding the Blender issues, which version of Blender are you using? I don't really have any ideas how to fix it specifically, you have tried the biggest (hwcursor). Antialiasing must be turned off with blender, but the problems it causes make it unusable, not just cursor artifacts. Do you have any other openGL apps that cause the same effect?

Hello
In other opengl apps is the same problem. In X86config-4 i set shadowcursor but it doesn't work neither in KDE nor elsewhere. But now i've got AGP enabeled at least. What about dri with nvidia? Thank you for your help.

DRI and nVidia don't mix. At all that I'm aware of. I suppose you could use the nVidia kernel AGP support, and DRI, but I don't know what the expected gain would be.
