Default VGA BIOS initialization

I'm currently trying out a new project called LinuxBIOS, but cannot get VGA output from my mainboard (Tyan S2885), not even after logging into the machine with ssh, loading the driver, and starting X. It appears that the video BIOS was never initialized.

Does anyone know how I can get nVidia graphics cards to initialize? I suspect this is the same for all video cards as well, but I haven't had much luck figuring out if there's a standardized procedure for bootstrapping a video card.

Oh, I forgot to include in my earlier post that my video card is seen by lcpci and the driver sees it:
