Default No Duke Nukem Forever 'til 2005?

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/du...s_6085889.html

The next chapter in 3D Realms' sassy shooter franchise won't be ready until Q4 2004 at the earliest.

What's the hurry.

Hey its not like DoomIII and HL2 will be out by then. Oh wait never mind.

Dig that super vaporware.

Duke Nukem Wait Forever

Yes but it will finally come out on X-Box Next in 2006... using a custom game engine built around DX10... that is highly confidential of course

No, no...I have it on good authority that shortly after the Source source leak they announced they were writing their own advanced dx9 engine and it'd have HDR, or some such.

I still say it will be awesome when it does come out.

Look what they had back in 1999, that put most of todays games to shame.

Smile Ummm...

This game came out 2 years ago. 3D Realms said you just had to find it. So far, no one has.

I did hear from an undisclosed source that a technician at someplace called Area 51 might know where to look. Unfortunately, no one's found that either

BUT BATTLECRUISER 3000AD DID COME OUT.

admittedly, it sucked at release, and subsequent versions sucked almost as much, but that's BESIDE THE POINT.

I think I started ignoring it after the third engine change. I mean, I might be able to understand ONE switch to an engine (though even that is often not a good idea), but THREE? Actually they might be up to even more by now, I haven't checked. In any case, I think when they release it they should have a "collectors edition" that has the latest versions of the game for each engine they've done. Like a museum of old Duke games. "On your left, you'll see the version we did with our own engine. Over here, you'll see the version we did for the Unreal 1 engine. Oh, through that door you'll find the version we did for the Freespace engine...don't ask, were were drunk at the time".

It looks like an issue of management doesn't it? Sooner or later you have to get a game as good as you can with the skills and tools available, and finish it. If you don't, if you keep saying `oh, I'll just add this' then it'll never see the light of day. Graphically games can date, but that can't be avoided, and if your content is good, it won't matter.
