Can anyone tell me if the refresh rate at 1280x960 has been fixed? With the last two beta 40.xx driver sets, I couldn't get it above 60 hz, though my monitor supports 70. I can't use 60, as it gives me a headache. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Edit: I mean in the windows desktop, not in any D3D or OGL games or apps, just on the desktop.

Hmm, I don't have any problems running my desktop at 1280x960 and 85Hz, which is what I always and have always had it set at. Are you using the RefreshForce program to set your refresh rate levels after driver installation? I suggest you do if you haven't. It's a great little thing you only have to run once after install, and you're set until the next release.

I kept trying to use the refresh rate forcing programs, but never got one to work for the desktop. I eventually gave up and went back to the 30.82s again. But I don't think I've tried your program...I'll check it out and post my results.

wow, refreshforce is really the best refreshrate changer, most simple, and most effective, and works on all cards, drivers, etc. 40.72 is the smoothest ut2k3 play so far far me.

RefreshForce did not work. Only "NVRefreshTool 2.0" fixed my problem. If you notice, these and other 40.xx drivers have the annoying bug of only setting the video mode to a max refresh rate of 75 hz no matter what refresh rate is selected (verify it by checking your monitor's onscreen display).

Get it here http://www.majorgeeks.com/article.php?sid=1457
or http://www.nvrt.net (page seems slow right now).

Make sure to REBOOT like it says before expecting any of your refresh rates to change.

i don't have that problem, checking the osd, the refreshrate does go above 75. i believe however at resolutions below 640x480 xp is limited to 75. oh well, guess refreshforce doesn't work with all computers.

Default Games messed up

I have tried to use the new 40.71's, but when I play games such as Zeus, Pharoah, or Stronghold they constantly are flipping on the screen. When I play games such as Ghost Recon or Medal of Honor everything is fine.
When I revert back to the 30.82's all my games work. Can anybody tell how I can get the 40.71's to work with the games that seem to be incompatible with these drivers? Same thing happened with the early 40.xx's.

either drivers suck, are the 40.71 defaults to vsync off. download a program such as nvhardpage, geforcetweakutility, or rivatuner, to enable vsync.

Default Gave up on using 40.xx's

I went back to using 30.82's. These new drivers won't work with all of the games I play (in particular Zeus and Pharoah). These aren't the only games I play I also play FPS games, which these drivers work well with.
If a driver doesn't work with all or most games then there's no point in using them.
