Unhappy Tearing and corrupted colors.....help !

I have a pentium 4 2.8 , Asus p4p800s motherboard, 500 watt power supply, 1 gig of ram, nvidia 5600eq w/256 meg ram w/ the current 53.03 drivers and i am getting tearing and corrupted colors in both unreal 2 and unreal tournament 2003.......i have tried going back to the 44.03 & 52.16 drivers. still no luck !!
i have tried everything i could think of.......any ideas on what could be causing it....

Tearing? Enable v-sync. Corrupted colors? What kind of corruption are we talking about? The tripped out psychedelic kind, the streaky kind, the 16bit looking in 32bit kind, or something else?

Also, did you have a different video card in the PC before and did UT ever work on the 5600 before for you?

Default tearing....

only other game it happens on is Halo & call of duty....only corrupted colors ( like on a wall you see specks of red or few streaks of red) but not bad at all.
Other games run fine like NFS Underground and star war Galaxies.
This is a new machine i built so i havn't tried another video card.....i might go with an ATI 9600 pro.

also i have tried enabling v-sync, also turned anti-aliasing off.
running out of ideas other than get another video card.....one that works.lol
