gfx card fan stops when X starts

I have a fairly new fx5600 ultra, and two seperate screens running off the dualhead thingy with the latest drivers. Now when X starts (not when the driver is autoloaded on boot), and both screens are started, the fan on the graphics card stops. It works fine on bootup, and works again when I reboot, but stops when X starts. Is this a bug with the drivers or what?

MSI KT4 Ultra
AMD Barton 2800+
512MB ram
KT400 chipset
fx5600 ultra
