Default Guess the HSF!! :D

I've been wondering for quite some time now....

...What is this?

...I have two of these... the one in the pic and a taller one... both are made exactly the same, except the taller one has a cheaper clip...

...Temps have always been real nice with these, even with the shorter one... but I really don' tknow what "popular" model these are (or are modeled after)...

Anybody know?

PS: Not that it would matter (well maybe it does), but the clip on the one in the pic has an "A3" with a circle around it on the handle...

both have the same number of fins (38)... it's lookin to me like the tall one I have is a knockoff of the Volcano7 (which has 36 fins I believe) ... but what owould this short one be equivalent to?

Those look like old OCZ heatsinks. I think those were models that were one step down from the Gladiator Delta (which I had, loudest sumbich on earth). I'll see if I can remember the exact model and find a site with a pic.

Bingo!

If that's not it, what you have is a darn good imitation.

Heh, I think it's a darn good imitation anyway!!! The purple frame's a little different, and I think the base on mine's a little smaller...

here's the tall one...

I guess it is a little different from the short one... thinner copper plate, less fins... heh, no wonder the short one performs almost as good....

Maybe the legendary GlobalWin CAK38? Greatest heatsink ever for the old Thunderbird-A and -B cores?

Ok, I have my barton installed right now, and I notice that it runs a little hotter than the tbrdB did...

I'm using the tall copper hsf with it right now, but I have an AMD stock Barton 2500 HSF layin around...

might that perform a little better?

Even with Shin Etsu, with the tall copper unit I'm runnin @ 50 idle, 52 load @ 11x200...

???

your thumb bends very far back

As for the HSF those retail ones tend to suck.
