I just downloaded the latest driver for linux. I finished installing it with success. I changed the XF86Config parameter "vesa" to the "nvidia", but it doesn't work. With the vesa it works fine, but with the driver, no good !! My card is "GeForce4 MX440 with AGP8X 64MB DDR" : the PALIT original. The nVidia /proc/... is showing that it is AGP, but doesn't recognize any of the BIOS version and other inf. I've read the whole doc, but there is no known issues. The error log show these:
(EE) NVIDIA : Failded to initialize the NVIDIA graphics card (EE) NVIDIA : *** Abort *** I tried verything, but no luck. Please help up, if anyone knowsd how to fix it. |

Check your nVidia kernel module is loaded:
lsmod and if not: modprobe nvidia |
