If those 333 FSB chips are real, that will be impressive. Great IPC + awesome FSB = incredible performance.

It would be a wise idea for AMD to release a processor like that, as it should carry AMD on through to Hammer.

Even if the next set of XP's has a 333MHz FSB I will not upgrade; Although a 333MHz FSB would be nice. Not until about the middle of next year. When the Barton is cranking high and mighty. Hopefully all the motherboards will have the bugs fixed by then.

Yeah, whichever one is out.

I was kind of pre-occupied at the moment

Not really. Athlons will continue, supposedly as a replacement Duron

When is that Nforce 2 coming out anyway?

Wasn't it supposed to be out by now?

Question I want a 333MHz Athlon

I hope AMD can get these 2.0 Thoroughbreds with a 333MHz FSB out soon, or else AMD won't be able to sustain itself until the launch of their Hammer processors.

BTW, can the KT333 run a full 166MHz FSB? I know it does 166MHz for the memory, but what about the processor?

Some KT333s will, and some won't, from what I was reading

AMD shouldn't really have a problem sustaining itself, even if Hammer fails. I mean look at how small of a market Apple has and they still suvive (may be apples-to-oranges comparison, but whatever).

Also AMD could go after a deal with Apple, because as several articles have stated lately, Motorola chips are out of room to grow. They have hit their limit, and in order to scale them higher Apple will have to increase the pipe length, possibly nearing the P4 length. Apple certainly doesn't want to do that, as it would be playing to the mhz myth it has been trashing the last several years.

AMD could be a very good thing for Apple.

i don't think Barton will be used as a value CPU for AMD. more likely tbred will have that role.
