Hi. I'm pretty new to linux, so this might seem a bit obvious to all you seasoned guys. I've made a lot of preogress on my own and just need a little push.
I installed debian woody from the iso images, the kernel after installing was 2.2.somthing, which I updated with apt-cache to 2.4.18-k7 (I have an AthlonXP) I also installed the kernel headers with: apt-get install kernel-headers-2.4.18-k7 so the nvidia installer could build a new kernel interface. However, now I have the same problem as before. There is a folder /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.4.18-k7 now, there seems to be disagreement amongst the linux comunity about to symlink/not symlink. Linus himself is reported to advise against it, IIUC some people say you should have the headers that built your compiler, and some say you still need a symlink. What should I do to install these drivers?

sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5328-pkg1.run --kernel-include-path /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.4.18-k7/include

ok, it compiles the kernel headers now.
For "fun" I added a symlink /usr/src/linux too, and that worked too. I don't really understand the big issue with this link, but - hey - I got my driver compiled. Thanks.
