hello,
whith the same config the 4496 were working quite well. But the 5328'one don't work: i have got a black screen after X starts and in the XFree*.log the error (EE) No screen found and even problem with the virtual console that don't scroll anymore when X is started. All is ok before. Config: debian woody 3.0r2 kernel 2.4.24 (ftp.kernel.org) Atlhlon XP 1800+ Geforce 4 Mx 440 (0x0171) MotherBoard: AsRock KTVT2 with via chipset Screen:Acer 77e no /dev/agpd and no modeline in XFreeConfig but it is ok with 4496 So what are the big changes between 4496 and 5328 ??? |

And i wonder if the output of lspci is ok with the unknown device or haven't I forgot to compile something in the kernel ? 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation: Unknown device 0171 (rev a3) |

lspci uses a regular file to match PCI ids to product names; the man page should tell you where that file lives (/usr/share/misc/pci.ids on Debian GNU/Linux).
