Unhappy SuSE driver install problems

Dunno what I did wrong but I definatly did something bad!

I installed the drivers and everything went through fine, I then went an edited the XF86Config file (I dont have XF86Config-4) and changed

Driver "nv"
to
Driver "nvidia"

saved and restarted. the computer now brings up a black screen whenever I try to launch X and nothing else happens.

I also tried the Option "IgnoreDisplayDevices" but that didnt help either.

Any ideas guys?

hi

just set Option "NvAgp" "0" in your XF86Config, this should work, but it is slow, because it's disabling agp.

I also had this poroblem. However, both "NvAgp" "0" (off) and "1" (wich I presume forces it on) works. Removing the Option "NvAgp" line gets me a black screen again.
