Angry driver upgrade deleted files

After upgrading my driver my X Server doesn't start anymore. Nvidia obviously knows that their scripts for upgrading under RH7.3 result in loss of files/data, but they don't tell you which files to recover. Does anybody know how to fix this? I already removed the Nvidia stuff and tried to start which a default vga driver but this doesn't help :-(

What's the error you're seeing? Also post the contents of /var/log/XFree86.0.log.
