Default V4l2

Hi, does nvidia driver support V4L2 and does tv-out work without X? I installed the driver and I found two new devices, /dev/nvidia0 and /dev/nvidiactl. When I try to open either nvidia0 or nvidiactl and ask support for V4L2 (v4l2_capability) ioctl fails. Any ideas?

The nvidia drivers don't support v4l2. The /dev/nvidia devices are used for communication between the kernel module and the xfree86/opengl drivers. The nvidiactl file is some control file and /dev/nvidia0 provides access to the registers of the videocard.

Ok, thanks! How about future plans with V4L2? Any other cards that has tv-out and V4L2 support?

Well, I'm using kernel 2.6 and v4l2 works just fine here. I use mplayer for viewing tv with v4l2, so I think that your problem is not related with unsupported feature of the driver. I don't about tv-out... haven't tested yet...
